“Lisa is absolutely amazing to work with, as she truly cares about her customers. She makes me feel like her #1 customer while I am in her studio. It has been a wonderful journey since I met Lisa and I no longer avoid the camera.”  –Tony

“CURA Studio understands the impact of hair and how it can change your life. Lisa did a fantastic job in providing me with several options. Once I decided on the CNC, the process was simple, and my CNC is nearly identical to my original hair! No one can tell I’m wearing hair.” –Diana

Hair stylist and colorist Jen Proenza

Jen – CNC by CRLAB

Jennifer Proenza (Wig Specialist)

Jen started working in the Hair industry in 1996, as a receptionist and later became an apprentice in the color department. During this start of her career, she discovered her passion for styling hair. Jen has been working at CURA for 4 years now and feels her role of styling the different hair pieces and working with our clients has been wonderful. In her spare time outside of the salon, she enjoys going to new restaurants and traveling with friends.

Deja Baker (Stylist)

Deja has been a hairstylist for 7 years. Her favorite thing about styling hair is that she gets to be creative and specializes in blow drys. When she is not at the studio, you can find Deja spending time with her bulldog, Suzie. After cosmetology school, Deja found working in a hair salon to be exciting and challenging at the same time. She loves the freedom, the creativity and the beauty aspect of it.

Marissa Evans - Cura Studio's Color Specialist

Marissa – XT Extensions by CRLAB

Marissa Evans (Color Specialist)

As an Art major turned to hair stylist, Marissa has specialized in color for the past 8 years. Her favorite part of being in the #althair world is coloring pieces to bring them to life; blondes are her favorite. Color is an integral part of the CNC process – Marissa takes about 1-2 weeks to create custom colors once the hair system is received from Italy. You can find Marissa at a concert or trying new restaurants when she is not at the studio.

Brad Barnett (Director of Operations)

A graduate of GSU, Brad worked as a Sound Designer in the Film and Video business for nearly 20 years. When given the opportunity to help guide a company that helps those with hair loss, he jumped at the chance to try something new.

Although you will see Brad in the studio from time to time, he is often working offsite, where he handles a wide assortment of business responsibilities. In his free time, Brad spends time with Lisa and their many dogs and also enjoys photography, wildlife, swimming and hiking.

Lisa’s Own Story

Lisa Ferestad, founder of Cura Hair Solutions, strikes a sassy pose

Lisa Ferestad understands hair loss.

I’m a second generation hairstylist and for as long as I can remember, working with hair is the only thing I wanted to do. I’ve always had fine hair, so I specialized in helping those like me.

As the years went on, my fine hair started to thin. There was irony in being a hairstylist with thinning hair that exposed my scalp. I was suddenly aware of many things that never crossed my mind before, for example: where I was sitting, who was behind me, how windy it was outside and was there overhead lighting?

This preoccupation started to take the joy out of activities that I was participating in. I often thought about not going, because of the challenge of dealing with my hair.

I understand the emotional cost of experiencing hair loss. My immediate solution was to cut my hair shorter and shorter.

When styling and products did not give me the results I wanted, I started to look into the world of alternative hair.

I will never forget the first top piece that I wore, I could actually feel hair, swinging, and moving; this was a sensation I had never experienced before.

I wore my topper everywhere and looked forward to putting it on every single day.

Lisa – CNC by CRLAB

Over the next several years, I dedicated myself to attending every class I could find and learning every possible product available. This passion led me around the world to bring the solutions that we offer at CURA today. I extend compassion to every single person who sits in my chair, because I know personally what you are going through.
